B-Rock and I played this past weekend at Sarafino’s.  This mix was done after most of the crowd left at the end of the night.  Give me free range behind the decks and this is what will happen.

I would never play like this in front of a “normal” crowd.  Some people are quick to dismiss music they’re not familiar with.  I’m not one of those people. This mix reflects that perfectly.  If you like this mix, we’re cool.

This is the raw set recording of the mix I did for this week’s Strictly Hip Hop show on WEAA 88.9 FM in Baltimore.  Tune in to listen live via web broadcast or via FM radio like the old folks used to do.

The show airs 12AM to 5AM on Saturday, which is Friday night for me.  I don’t consider it Saturday until the sun comes up.. or when Taco Bell closes.

Live recording from the broadcast on Strictly Hip Hop. Some callers wanted to hear Jay-Z, so I played a few tracks you usually don’t hear (which is what you’re SUPPOSED to do as a DJ).

Tune into Strictly Hip Hop on WEAA 88.9 Friday nights into Saturday morning from 12 AM to 5 AM.

Lots of funky old school hip hop cuts and a few other jams.  Some mainstream, some songs you might not hear everyday. Happy Birthday shout-out to Aaron!

This 3 hour mix is cut up into 3 CD-friendly 70 minute MP3s.  Enjoy.

This week I played the upstairs lounge area instead of the downstairs floor.  I got to play a lot of chill and funky house music I really like.  This mix is good to throw on as background music to chill to.  Enjoy.

Track listing after the break.  No drops on this one, so it’s not available for download.

This year, the DMC is doing things a bit different by letting people compete online. Kinda crazy. They’re also allowing people to use whatever type of equipment they want. I guess they had to cave in and move along with technology rather than fight it? They used a clip of my VCI-300 video in their promo, which is kinda cool.

In this video, I break down parts of the Common “The Light” beat juggle using Notorious B.I.G.’s “10 Crack Commandments” to explain some of the basics between the beat counts and timing for basic beat juggling.

I love this genre.  This mix has some of my favorites.  Most of them are old, but I love the jazzy-funk-disco-R&B-type vibe.  There aren’t too many vocals on this mix, so you can put this on as background music when your friends come over to play Yahtzee.

Tracklisting after the break.  I think there’s only 1 expletive within the first 30 seconds?

Just recorded a video testing out ustream.tv while practicing playing all sorts of randomness as usual.  In my pajamas of course. The video quality is awful and the audio skips, but the track selection is nice.
